Heads up for those traveling on the Sanitary and Ship Canal! The Coast Guard will enforce a Safety Zone on the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal from Mile Marker 295.5 to 297.5 for Permanent Barrier 1 In-Water Testing from July 13-17 and July 27-31, 2026. The zone will be active daily from 7:00-11:00 a.m. and 1:00-5:00 p.m. to ensure safety during electric fish barrier testing. Flyer is attached below.
